LESSON 6: LANGUAGE FOCUS A. Objectives:

1.The aims: By the end of the lesson, ss will have a good chance to review:

- “Be going to” to talk about intentions.

- Adverbs place.

2. Needing to get the knowledge.

- Standard: Write the intention sentences using the situations given.

+ Complete the questionaire using “be going to” in interrogative sentence.

+ Complete the speech bubbles using the adverbs of place.

- Higher: Ask and answer the questions about themselves.

3.Language focus.

+ Vocabulary: novel(n); fishing rod (n); action movie.

UNIT 3: AT HOME A.Ojectives:

1.Mục tiêu: Sau khi hoàn thành bài học, học sinh sẽ có khả năng - Mô tả vị trí của đồ vật.

- Khuyên ai đó phải hoặc nên làm gì.

- Nói nguyên nhân, kết quả của sự việc.

2. Trọng tâm ngôn ngữ:

- Modals: must, have to, ought to - Prepositions of place (Review) - Reflexive pronoun

- Why – Because (Review)

3. Từ vựng theo chủ điểm : At home.

Học sinh cần ôn lại các danh từ chỉ đồ vật trong nhà và bổ sung thêm như:

object, socket, precaution, safety, to injure, to destroy,...

4. Các kĩ năng cần đạt:

- Nói tả vị trí các đồ vật trong phòng khách và nhà bếp.

- Nghe hội thoại ngắn về cách nấu một món ăn và xác nhận thông tin đúng dựa vào các tranh gợi ý.

- Viết để miêu tả được căn phòng (bếp, ngủ, khách) hoặc ngôi nhà của mình hoặc của bạn mình. Dùng các câu đơn và giới từ chỉ vị trí.

- Đọc hiểu để có được thông tin chi tiết về những điều cần thận trọng khi sử dụng và cất các đồ vật trong gia đình để phòng tránh những nguy hiểm cho trẻ nhỏ.

* Lưu ý: Đối với bài viết 2

- Học sinh trung bình và yếu có thể chỉ cần viết hoàn chỉnh các câu dựa vào các từ gợi ý.

B. Unit plan

LESSON 1: GETTING STARTED, LISTEN AND READ A. Objectives:

1. The aims: By the end of the lesson ss will be able to listen and read a dialogue between Nam and Mrs.Vui on the phone for general or detailed information

2. Needing to get the knowledge.

Standard: Practice and understand the dialogue to write the things Nam has to do Higher: Ask and answer more questions about the dilogue

3.Language focus.

+ Vocabulary: cupboard(n); steamer(n); sink (n); saucepan(n); stove(n); frying pan(n); use(v); ought to (v), have to (v)

Introduce the topic of the passage and some new words .

* Checking vocabulary: What and where - Let students repeat the words in chorus then rub out word by word but leave the circles.

- Get Ss to write the words again in the correct circle

2. Presentation

- Set the scene of the dialogue between Nam and his mother, Mrs Vui:

The dialogue between Nam and his mother, Mrs Vui . Mrs. Vui visits her mother after work , and she will come home late, so she phones Nam to ask him to cook dinner

- Turn on the tape and ask Ss to close their books.

- Ask Ss to listen and complete the list of things Nam has to do .

- Give feedback.

- Get students to run through the picture cues.

- Model the exchange and ask students to repeat.

1. The aims: By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to describe positions of things in the kitchen and ss will be able to listen to a dialogue about how to cook a meal and check the right items

2. Needing to get the knowledge

- Standard: describe positions of things in the kitchen, Listen to a dialogue about how to cook a meal and check the right items

- Higher: describe positions of things in the kitchen and other places in their house, Write a passage to guide how to cook Chinese fried rice

3. Language focus.

+ Vocabulary: bowl(n); plate(n) ; rug(n); cushion(n). fried rice(n); garlic(n);

III. New lesson(35’) Step1: Pre - listening(4’) * Predictions:

- Get Ss to look at page 30 and guess 4 things they use to cook the "Special Chinese Fried Rice “

- Give feedback.

Step 2: While – listening(8’)

- Turn on the tape 2 times and ask them to listen and check their predictions . - Turn on the tape once more to check the answers again .

Step 3: Pre- speaking (8’)

* Vocabulary:

- use the picture to elicit the words

* Checking vocabulary: Matching - Use the picture of furniture and words and ask students to match the words with the right furniture in the picture.

Step 4: While – speaking(10’)

- Get Ss to work in pairs, talking about the position of each item in the picture.

- Call on some pairs to demonstrate in front of the class.
