UNIT 15: GOING OUT I. Trọng tâm kiến thức, kỹ năng:

1. Topic:

- Video games & city life.

2. Competences:

- Talk about video games and their effects.

- Describe and compare city and village lifestyles.

3. Skills:

Speaking, Listening, Redaing, Writing - Modal verbs: must, can, ought to, should.

- Adjectives and adverbs: good / well; slow / slowly.

- Tenses: Present simple, Present progressive.

5. Vocabulary:

- Words to talk about / to compare city and country life: quiet, noisy, crowded, busy.

II. Unit plan:

Unit 15: Going out (4 periods)

Lesson 1 A1 Further practice in Wh – questions and giving advice for not doing something.

Lesson 2 A2 Reading for details about videos and video games.

Giving advice with should and shouldn’t.

Lesson 3 B1 Reading for details about life in the city and life in the country.

Lesson 4 B3-B4 Activities in the evening with listening and reading practice.

LESON 1: A1 A.Objectives:

1. Knowledge:

- By the end of the leson Sts will be able to read the dialogue for details and give advice for not doing something and to use Wh-questions.

2. Skills:

- Practice reading skill.

3. Attitude:

- Help ss to have good consciousness in order to practice read for detalis B. Teaching- aids:

Lesson plan, textbooks, pictures, poster.

C. Methods:

- Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work

- Some techniques can be used: Jumbled Words, Presentation Dialogue, Comprehension questions, Mapped Dialogue.

- Divde the class into two teams.

Students from two tewams go to the board and write the corect words

Step 1: Presentation(13’) 1. Vocabulary

- Listen and repeat (chorally then individually).

2. Presentation dialogue: (A1, Page 147)

*Set the scene:Nam usually goes to the amusement center. Listen to the

conversation between Nam and Lan - Ask students to listen and repeat the dialogue at the same time

- Call on some pair students practice the dialogue

- Ask students some questions on page 147 to check their understand

- Ask students the questions:

“Lan wants to advese Nam not to spend much time on playing video games. What does she say?”

“What does Nam respond?”

- Ask students to run through vocabulary

- Ask students to practice the statements and then the answer

- Ask some pairs students to practice (open pairs).

- Get the whole class to work in closed pairs

* Mapped dialogue:

* Set the scene: You and your friends are talking about the amusement center - Put the dialogue chart on the báad - Elicit the exchanges from students and have them repeat before going on to another exchange

- After finish the dialogue, ask a good pairs to demonstrate the whole

dialogue

- Ask some pairs of students to

demonstrate the dialogue (open pairs) - Get the whole class to work in pairs (closed pairs)

- Monitor
