1. Kiến thức

 

UNIT 6: HOW MANY LESSONS DO YOU HAVE TODAY?

Lesson 1 Part 4 +5 I. OBJECTIVES

1. Knowledge: After the lesson students can ask and answer questions about  school lessons, using “How many lessons do you have ? I have…….”.

- Sentence Pattern: “How many lessons do you have today? – I have...”

- Vocabulary: Maths, Vietnamese, Art, IT, Science, Music, PE, English, Ethics, Literature, History, Craft, Geography.           

2. Skills: - Develope Ss’listening and  writting skill

3. Core competencies and personal qualities:  - Help Ss to be more confident to communicate in English.

II. TEACHING AIDS

1. Teacher’s: Lesson plan, books, flashcards or  pictures, CDs and computer, sachmem.vn, English room(5E3, 5E1).

2. Students’: Books, notebooks, workbooks.

III. PROCEDURE

Teacher’s and Ss’ activities Content 2. Warm up: (5’)     Role play

-  Spend a few minutes having the class revise the story in Activity 1.

-  Invite one or two pairs to act it out

- T & Ss listen and give comments. T praise the better.

3. New lesson:

Act 1. Listen and tick(8’).

- Ask Ps to look at the activity 3 and answer:

How many lessons in this pictures?  What are they? How many ps are there in column?

- Tell Ps that they are going to listen to the recording and tick the timetable in their books.

- Ask them to read the names and lessons in the timetable

- Play the recording all the way through for Ps to listen and do the task. Play it again for them to do the task.

- Get them to compare their answer before checking as a class. Give explanations for the answers which Ps find difficult. Play the recording again to confirm the answers Act 2. Read and complete(12’).

- Ask Ps to look at activity 5 and answer:

How many words are there? How many numbers are there?

- Tell the class that they are going to read the text and fill the gaps with Art, four, lessons, Wednesday and Tuesday. Give them a few second to read. Remind them to focus on the context to select the appropriate words from the book.

- Set a time limit for Ps to do the task independently. Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary.

- Get them to compare their answers in pairs before checking as a class.

- Post reading.

- Ask Ps to work in pair to ask and answer.

 Act 3. Let’s sing(10’)

- Tell the class that they are going to sing How many lessons do you have today ? Have them read the lyrics and teach the u n f a m i l i a r w o r d s . C h e c k t h e i r comprehension.

- Play the recording all the way through for them to listen and follow in their books.

Play it again for them to repeat line by line.

4. Listen and tick.

Key:

Lesson 2: Part 1+2 +3 .I. OBJECTIVES

1. Knowledge: By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to ask and answer question about how often someone has a subject , using How often do you have….? I have it + frequency expression - Sentence Pattern “How often do you have….? I have it + frequency expression.

- Vocab: Revision of days of the week, once/twice a week, three/four times a week.

 2. Skills: - Develope Ss speaking and listening skills

3. Core competencies and personal qualities:   - Help Ss to be more confident to communicate in English with others, to be studious and obedient

II. TEACHING AIDS

1. Teacher’s: Lesson plan, books, flashcards or  pictures, CDs and computer, sachmem.vn.

2. Students’: Books, notebooks, workbooks.

 

III. PROCEDURE

When pupils are familiar with the melody, ask them to sing along with the music before having them practice doing action.

- Invite a group to sing the song and do actions in front of the class.  

4.Consolidation(1’):    Consolidate the content of the lesson

3. New lesson:

Act 1: Look, listen and repeat( 7)

* Set the scene:      

- T uses the picture of the dialogue on page 3..

(Student book 1) to lead Ss in the conversation - Ask students to look at the 4 pictures  in the book and elicit.

   T: What’s his/her name? Who is he/she talking with? What are they talking about?

….

- Play the recording all the way through  for Ss to listen and follow in their book.

- Play the recording again for Ss repeat the text several times.( line by line in the bubbles).

- Point to the picture for Ss to read the dialogue  again

- Have Ss to find out the new structure.

Act 2. Point and say.(14) a. Presenting new words.

- Review the words under the pictures  Check vocab: What and where

b. Sentence Pattern:

* Presenting model sentences.

- Point to the first picture  and elicit the

words to fill in the gap. Put the sentence on the board:  How often do you have…..? I have it….

and have Ss repeat them several times.

- Check the form/ use/ meaning/ Intonation.

* Practice.( Picture drill)

- Tell Ss that they are going to practice saying.

How often do you have…..? I have it…..

- T models – Ss listen & repeat.( P1) - T and good students model.( T         S1, T        S2) .T asks Ss point and say.

- Replace the activities by doing choral and individual repetition, using 4 pictures in part 2 in the book.

I. AIMS:

 + Pairs( Closed pairs, Open- pairs) Act 3. Let’s talk(7)

Tell Ss that they are going to practice more with their friends. Give a few seconds for Ss to read the questions and check comprehension.

Call a pair to give a demonstration of the answer before starting the activity.

Have Ss work in pairs. Go around to offer help and correct the pronunciation, if necessary.

Call several pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class.

-Other Ss observe and give  comments.

4.Consolidation(1’)

-Ask Ss to focus on the  model sentence once again.

- Retell the content of the lesson.
