-By the end of the lesson , students will able to write a short paragraph describing a story happened in the past.

* Ability: Help Ss to be more confident to communicate with others and in learning English. Help Ss to know how to prepare and arrange for a pinic.

III. New lesson

Step 1. Pre writing (15’)

* Pre- teach(use projector)

picnic site(n): Địa điểm pic nic ( example) blanket(n): Chăn, mền ( picture)

lay out (v): dọn, bày ra ( explaination) gather (v):thu dọn vào ( antonym)

put down (v): đặt xuống, trải ra (explaination)

* Brainstorming

T introduces vocab using different techniques

Step 2. While writing(15’) Example writing

It was a beautiful day, My friends and I decided to go on a picnic. We took a bus to the countryside and then walked about 20 minutes to the picnic site nest to the river.

We put down the blanket and laid out the food. After meals, we played game “ blind man’s buff” and “What song is it?”.

Late in the afternoon, we went fishing. We enjoyed our picnic.

When we looked at the time, it was nearly 6.30 p.m. We hurriedly gathered our things and ran to the bus

stop. We were lucky to catch the last bus and we arrived home very late at night Step 3. Post writing (8’)

Exhibition.

T : What things do you usually bring when you go on a picnic?

Food/ drink ( snack)

T asks Ss to look at the pictures and asks them some questions.

T: Where did they go?

T: What did they bring?

T: What did they do?

Ss: They went on a picnic.

Ss: They brought food and drink.

Ss: They went fishing/ sang some songs and played games.

T: How did they go?

Ss: They went by bus.

T: Did they go home early or late?

Ss: They went home late.

( Group work- Ss write on posters)

T and Ss run through the words and the pictures and then asks Ss to write a paragraph to tell the story.

IV. Summary (1’)

T stresses on some main ideas of the lesson.

T writes half sentence on a piece of paper and give to Ss, Ss have to find their friend who has another half to make a complete sentence.
